Hello there! I am Hakan from Turkiye. I was born in 1996 in Istanbul and grew up in Amasya. I finished my primary and secondary school here and went to Corum for high school. After high school, I got right to the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Ondokuz Mayis University in Samsun.
I spent the best years of my life in Samsun so far. In Samsun, which is a very beautiful city by the sea, I made lasting excellent friendships. Just finishing university is not enough to find a good job in Turkiye. I wanted to be different from the people around me and I wanted to benefit from Erasmus programs. I took the Erasmus exams at my university and in the summer of 2019, I got the right to do an internship in Germany for 3 months. That was my first Erasmus experience and when I return, I saw some things changed in my life. In order to improve myself, I wanted to do a master’s degree as soon as I graduated from university. I got a right to do a master’s degree in the same city and in the same department but this time the name of university was different: Samsun University. In this university I gave my whole lessons and now I am writing a thesis about youth in Samsun. When it finish, I will be graduated from this university too. I have a lot of time when I am writing a thesis. In this flexible time, I wanted to do an Erasmus internship again. This time I wanted a different place from Germany and Italy was one of my favourite countries. So I tried my chance to find a place where I can do my internship and found. These are really very good things for my cv. Now I am here and exploring the around, meeting new people, trying to contribute to Link. Today is my first week in Altamura.
Let me tell you a little about my hobbies and my country. I like play and watch football very much. I play it really so good and a fan of Fenerbahce football team in Turkiye. Maybe you know Alex de Souza from Brazilia. He is the legend of Fenerbahce and fans of Fenerbahce are really like him so much. One of my another hobbies is travelling. I love it. In Turkiye, we have 81 cities and I travelled 32 of them so far. Also, I have been to Georgia, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Bulgaria. Of course I want more. I believe in that there is nothing that develops the brain more than travelling. So, there is a lot of places to travel!
How are the Turkish people? The first thing I can tell you about Turks is that we are really very hospitable people. If you come to Turkiye, you can see that every person you see will want to host you. If you are their guest, they will give you the best food in their house. So don’t hesitate to be their guest. You can ask them everything that you wonder, you can request everything you need. They will really do their best if I had to describe it in 3 words, Turkish people: hospitable, helpful and sincere…
Istanbul… This city is really the best one. In Turkiye, we have a lot of famous city. For example, Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Canakkale, Gaziantep, Samsun… But Istanbul is really unique. In Istanbul, you can watch the Bosphorus and travel from Asia continental to Europa continental eating Turkish Delight and drinking Turkish Coffee. There is a lot of old building of Ottoman Empire in Istanbul. Palaces, Mosques, Inns, Caravanserais… Of course there is a lot of modern buildings and places for entertainment too. You can eat Turkish Kebap, Turkish Delight, Baklava, Cacik, Yaprak Sarmasi and more. There is more, not just Istanbul. If you like naturel beauties, you should go to Karadeniz area in Turkiye, if you want eat the best foods of Turkiye you should go to south east of Turkiye. If you want to go to sea you should go to Antalya and if you want to do ski you should go to Uludag or Palandoken or Erciyes and more. And you can do all of these in the same season.
What do I would like to be in the future? Manager within the government or manager in an international company. Actually the first one. Because I would like to touch the lives of many people and make things good for them. That makes me happy and in this way I can do this. As for the second. In this way, I think I can visit many places again. Of course, I need too many times to make all this wishes real and I know I have to begin from the first level to be top manager. I believe in myself and I will achieve all these things.

The person who never makes mistakes is the person who does nothing and the biggest mistake in life is to think that I am perfect.
