Ciao! My name is Julia and I am a new long term volunteer in Associazione Link for the next 7 months :)
"I'm 18 years old and I come Germany. After graduating from highschool this summer, I had enough of just studying all the time. I wanted to gain some practical experiences and get to know myself and my interests better.
Working with LINK seemed like the perfect opportunity for that, as they work on so many different projects with people from all over the world. On top of that it also allows me to explore the south of Italy, learn a new language and experience a new culture.
In my free time at home, I like to draw, read and overall, just spend time with my friends and family. I also started horse riding at the age of 7 and it quickly became one of my favourite activities.
During that time, I also worked in a riding camp, for kids from the age of 7 to 16.
Although, I previously thought I did not like kids, it turned out that I had a lot of fun working with them, so I hope that that is something I can focus on during my time as a volunteer.
I am vegetarian and my favourite food includes all types of pasta, so I definitely came to the right country for that :)
During my first month here, I was already fortunate enough to take part in the Health Common Good project, where I met some amazing people, created social media content and even got the opportunity to spend time in the school and Auxilium centres.
For the following months I hope to continue my time with such interesting projects and kind people, but I also hope to make new experiences in different projects, learn Italian and make memories that will last me forever."
