My name is Saad, I’m from Tangier, Morocco, and I’m starting a new chapter of my life here in Italy as an ESC volunteer with Link.
For the past few years, I’ve been involved in youth work through Live Room, a socio-cultural organisation in Tangier. There, I’ve had the chance to work with young people, organise activities and youth exchanges, and meet people from many different countries and backgrounds. This experience made me realise how much I enjoy bringing people together, sharing ideas, and creating experiences where everyone can learn from each other.
Now, I wanted to experience all of this from a different perspective: not as the person organising the mobility, but as the volunteer living it.
Spending nine months in Italy is a big adventure for me. I want to learn Italian, discover Puglia beyond the tourist side, meet new people, understand the local culture and, of course, eat as much good Italian food as possible!
I’m a social and a biiiiiiit hyperactive person who loves travelling, discovering new places and trying new things. I’m also passionate about art, culture and working with young people, so I’m excited to bring some of my own ideas and experience from Morocco while also learning from the people around me here.
For me, this ESC is not only about volunteering. It’s about getting out of my usual environment, challenging myself, becoming more independent, and seeing where these nine months can take me.
I’m really excited for what’s coming, the people I’ll meet, the things I’ll learn, the unexpected moments, and all the stories I’ll have to tell by the end of this journey.
Let’s see what these nine months in Italy have in store for me! 🇲🇦🇮🇹
